United Miles: Free 1,000 Miles

One of my favorite ways to earn miles is a Dining for Miles program. You simply link your frequent flyer program to a credit card and then use that card at a participating restaurant. You’ll get miles based on how much you spend. It’s free to join.

Screen Shot 2016-03-25 at 10.14.24 AMNormally, you have to dine out at least once at a D4M restaurant before you get a bonus, but United is offering 1,000 miles just to sign up. If you never use the program again, so be it. I just signed up (with my Citibank American Advantage card) and if you do so before April 10, you will also pick up the free miles.

Truthfully, I don’t use United much, but this is a good way to keep my miles from expiring, since any activity usually extends them. And if I never use the program, so be it. It’s free.
