Must be survey week in mileage land. Last week, I discussed earning bonus points with United at Opinion Miles Club. This week, my survey email was for 1,250 Hilton HHonors points at E-Rewards. You’ll get the points when you sign up and complete the brief survey.
Of all the various “survey for miles” sites, I find e-Rewards to be the most valuable. The surveys are rarely very long and they will always give you a token amount if you are disqualified. You get paid in “e-Rewards dollars,” which are very different from US dollars. Cash out levels start at $25, usually for a few hundred miles or more.
One Little Twist…
e-Rewards is crafty. Normally, you can get rewards from any one of several partners at the site. But when you sign up through a particular program, rather than directly at erewards.com, they limit the transfer partners to that program alone. In other words, I signed up directly at the site and can redeem with anyone. I haven’t looked at this one but my guess is that there will be few other travel partners than Hilton.
Here’s The Solution
Instead of signing up right away with your main email address, use a throwaway email. It will only take a minute, but it will give you a list of the partners that you will be able to redeem with. Then, clear cookies and use a different throwaway email address and sign up through the main site. Compare the reward possibilities. If they are the same, you can sign up through the above link and get the Hilton points. But if going directly to erewards gets you better reward options, that’s where you want to go.Want to subscribe?
