Choice Hotels Promotion: $50 Gift Card For Two Stays

Choice Hotels? Trust me, you know them. The owner of brands such as Comfort Inn, Sleep Inn or Econolodge, Choice is one of the leaders in the budget and midscale segments.

This month, the chain has brought back one of its most popular promotions. Stay twice and receive a $50 gift card. Well, enough points for a $50 gift card, anyway. After two stays during the promotion period of May 7 — August 9, Choice Hotels will give you up to 8,000 bonus points, enough for a $50 gift card at one of their promotional partners listed on the registration page. “Up to 8,000 points?” Your bonus will be based on the number of base points that you earn, although the company is not clear about how the two are correlated.

What Should I know?

I’m glad that you asked. There are a couple of things to know about the promotion before you get started.

  • You need to register for the promotion. Choice does not want you to qualify accidentally, of course. If you aren’t a member of their loyalty program, you can sign up there, as well.
  • Don’t want to use your bonus points for a gift card? That’s fine. You can use them for free nights, which range from 6,000 to 35,000 points.
  • You’re not limited to one bonus. You’ll get the points for every two stays that you have.
  • There are a few limits to the hotels that qualify. Be sure to read the terms and conditions. For example, rooms booked below $40 per night don’t count. Of course, at that price, you don’t need a bonus, anyway!

Overall…

It’s not a bad promotion. Choice properties tend to be pretty cheap, anyway, so an extra $50 per two stays is a great deal, particularly on a percentage basis. I’m not normally a Choice customer and probably wouldn’t switch for it, but it’s a good deal for those of you who are.
