A Father Turns TSA Lemons into Lemonade (And How You Can Help)

I’m going to leave this post up for a day or two in the hopes that it gets a few hits. If anything noteworthy happens, I’m going to put yesterday’s date on it and it can be found after this post.

I think every blogger has days when they really look forward to writing, and others when it’s a bit more of a chore. Today was turning into one of the latter, until it turned into the former.

Last week, I wrote about the boy who had a Buzz Lightyear toy confiscated by the TSA. I reached out to the father and found out that yes, he did eventually get it back. He also got an additional toy, which he donated to charity. But they didn’t stop there. Instead, they used the situation to help others. The family is encouraging everyone to donate presents to their local toy drive and asking that you take a picture giving a “thumbs up” in front of the donation bin. You can then post the picture using the tag #thatstheirtoy.

If anyone can think of a better way¬†to turn a bad situation into a good one, I’m all ears, but I’m glad to be able to write about someone doing something truly important.
