Club Carlson, one of the best unknown hotel programs, has another strong promotion in the market. The owner of brands such as Radisson and Country Inn doesn’t have a lot of flashy properties, but does tend to run excellent promotions.
Free Night Or Free Points
From July 1 until September 30, Club Carlson is giving away Friday nights or points. For every two stays* during that period, you’ll receive your choice of a free Friday night stay or 10,000 Club Carlson points. You can earn the reward up to three times, giving you three nights or 30,000 points.
So which should you choose? The answer seems pretty clear. As long as you will actually use a Friday night stay, the free night is better. The Club Carlson award chart requires 8,000 points for even the lowest category hotel and 70,000 points for the highest, Category 7. Of course, if you are never going to stay on a Friday night, just take the points.
Club Carlson remains one of the most generous programs with the best promotions. What it lacks in quantity, it certainly more than makes up for in quality.
*Beginner’s Hint: Remember, a stay and a night are different. A stay is one check-in and check-out, while a night is, well, a night. For instance, if you check in on Friday and check out on Sunday, that consists of one stay for two nights. When examining a promotion, be sure to check whether they require stays or nights.
